Been using Taskwarrior for a few years now and honestly I can’t imagine going back to any “normal” todo app. It just clicks with how I work. Super fast in the terminal, really flexible with filters and reports, and once you get the hang of the syntax it becomes second nature. I use it for everything from small chores to big long-term projects. Best part is my data stays in plain text so I’m not locked into some company cloud. If you like command line tools even a bit, give it a try — you might...

Very well designed! The syntax of the commands, the documentation, and even the configuration files are all very clean. For those that prefer working with the command line, I recommend this tool. I think it's broad enough that you can use it effectively from everything ranging from household chores to project management to software developing.
Those that want easy integration with other services and wouldn't use Taskwarrior's features such as due dates, urgency score, or tags may want to look...

Amazing, easy to use (even for a CLI-program) and powerful if it needs to be.
According to AlternativeTo, Taskwarrior has a command-line interface. Does anyone know of a similar app with a graphical interface?
In cygwin, it's package name is "task" - not "taskwarrior". the command is also "task". :)
The same is true in Fedora.
Also the macports package is called "task". But unfortunately for a long time macports had only a quite old version.
The main site does not feature windows binaries. What does this entry on alternativeto.net mean by "Windows" platform tag?
Please note, cygwin is not exactly Windows.
(to alternativeto.net staff: Actually cygwin should be considered a platform on it's own, when it's not bundled with the app. Bundled cygwin dlls are only library dependencies and the platform remains 'Windows'. A required cygwin install is a platform. If it were Firefox you would call a cygwin-dependent app a "cygwin extension". Yes technically it's not a plugin. But from a usability point of view, it is an extension indeed. Too bad this is not a single-step decision which makes appliance of this a bit more complicated for alternativeto.net. But with a clear and short description of 'cygwin as a platform' may help this even and then it could be used as a platform.)
