What is Takes for Mac?

Takes for Mac is a free, open-source app for recording talking-head videos. It has a teleprompter that follows your voice, records camera and screen together, and keeps every take in plain folders next to its script.

Claude Code, on your own Claude plan, cuts the edit: it removes silences, ums and false starts, makes vertical versions, adds captions and drafts posts for LinkedIn, X and YouTube. You leave notes right on the frame, and notes that matter beyond one video become rules Claude reads before the next edit.

No account, no tracking, files stay on your Mac. An MCP server lets any agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) read and write the same folders. Needs Apple silicon and macOS 15.
