Switchdesk is a free, open-source desktop editor for AI coding agents. It runs Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini, Kimi, Qwen and DeepSeek through each maker's official CLI, signed in with your own plan or API key, so there's no middleman and nothing extra to pay.
Switch any chat to a different agent mid-task and the new one picks up the conversation where the last one stopped. Send the same task to several agents at once and keep the best result, or start several tasks in parallel, each in its own copy of the folder, and follow them on a board.
Every change shows inline in a VS Code-style editor with Keep and Undo, whichever agent made it. Plan mode opens the agent's plan as an editable document, and one set of permission rules applies to every agent. It also includes a terminal, git and GitHub pull requests, a debugger, Jupyter notebooks, SSH folders and tab autocomplete.
If you don't write code, Desk view turns it into a plain chat for documents, notes and plans, with everything the agent makes previewed beside it.
