pavanvoGreat alternative to Vegas if you're on Linux
0alephdialloI think Kdenlive is one of the best because it's just like Vegas Pro. I don't think I can sentence mix in it. I'll try doing that later.
0shaysaladthe program is prone to unexpected crashes.
0Great alternative to Vegas if you're switching to Linux
-2Much more feature-packed than OpenShot, and the layout is closer to Vegas.

Shotcut Features
Shotcut vs MAGIX Vegas Pro opinions
shaysaladit functions very similarly to vegas, but the preview is laggy and some effects will freeze the program.
0Shotcut is an AMAZING video editing software. I used Vegas 16 and later Shotcut. The workflow is very similar. Great alternative to Vegas.
0Wow, it's has the same workflow as sony vegas, not that much memory usage, very fast (I tried openshot, lol what a joke, it was terrible to do edit on it, and I was at 8GB/8GB memory ...)
5UgotstaWorkflow is similar enough to Vegas that it's relatively easy to get accustomed to meanwhile it provides core features like composite blends and keyframe animation. Development is active so it continues to advance.

OpenShot is a free and open-source video editor for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS, designed to be easy to use and quick to learn.
OpenShot Features
OpenShot vs MAGIX Vegas Pro opinions
shaysaladopenshot is not capable of the same kind of keyframing and effects as vegas. it is functional for video editing but is more useful for slideshows. a vegas user might find it hard to do their work in this program
0RemovedUserOpenShot is not a good alternative. It needs Inkscape and Blender for text, chroma key dosen't work... It's an mess!
Not recommended.
0Laggy and clunky GUI. only recommended for 12 year olds trying to start a youtube channel
0Hardly any features. When I try to zoom into the timeline, it just unzooms. Extremely annoying. Forced to switch to Kdenlive!
2Awful light mode, sloppily working chroma key effect, confusing way to move images. Overall, OpenShot isn't really good.

DaVinci Resolve vs MAGIX Vegas Pro opinions
- It's free 2.It's professional 3. It's used by professionals. The edit side is not as user-friendly as Vegas but the colour grading side is unbeatable.
1yuriykazExcellent! You have a free and a paid version. Good alternative, has got many useful features.
0shaysaladthe free download requires an obscene amount of personal information to be inputted; you can put bogus information but it's still very intrusive. after downloading and installing on linux mint, it looked like it was not compatible with the os at all; it wouldn't run.
0MB85_STUDIOPick a reason why you want to report DaVinci Resolve, Try to provide any extra info that could be relevant, like links to more info and similar. The program does not work properly on Linux. Very few video formats are accepted. You have to convert your recorded videos into a format suitable for DaVinci Resolve. This is annoying and ultimately costs more storage space. I prefer to use Kdenlive on Linux.
-1Does not support MP4 or MVC

Olive Video Editor Features
Olive Video Editor vs MAGIX Vegas Pro opinions
shaysaladby far the closest in functionality to vegas and after effects, including a graph editor, a precomp function ("nested sequences") and similar keyframing. however it is missing layer blend modes, the rich text editor is broken, and renders are lossy, even in .avi format.
0resner2resnerOlive is currently not very feature packed, but is still a great editor and is much more stable than Vegas or Kdenlive.
1foss, lightweight, versatile
0Very "fast" compared to other alternatives
