Skim is an excellent PDF reader & annotator. From Skim's entry, here on alternativeto, it looked as if it hadn't been updated in years. Visiting the logs show that the project is alive and well. Good thing!
Perfect for reading scientific papers in PDF
Something has changed in the way this displays certain PDFs. Old PDFs that displayed properly under old versions have large sections of text missing (the same parts missing when viewed through Preview) that display properly via Foxit PDF Reader or Adobe's PDF reader.
Regularly updated. Very easy to use. Excellent for reading PDFs and making notes.
I really like Skim. My ebooks look great on it. It has opened all the .pdf's I've thrown at it. There's plenty of viewable options and is very clean. The only problem is there is not a windows version. I have and iMac that I use this software on but cannot use it on my laptop PC's.
