Scivelle is a word processor for long-form writing, including novels, theses, and book-length essays. It organizes work into chapters and scenes, with characters, places, and notes alongside the manuscript. A corkboard supports planning with colors and chapter synopses, while Focus Mode displays only the current page and paragraph.
Version History stores drafts, supports named versions and branches, and lets writers compare or restore earlier versions. Scivelle opens and saves .docx files while preserving styles, tracked changes, and comments. It also reads and annotates PDFs, searches for papers, manages citations in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and IEEE styles, and exports BibTeX and RIS files.
Publish creates paperback PDFs for KDP and IngramSpark trim sizes, EPUB files, and submission manuscripts from the same text. An optional writing assistant can use Apple Intelligence, a user-provided ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini API key, or a local Ollama model. Scivelle does not require an account or use analytics or tracking, and files can be stored locally, in iCloud Drive, or in Dropbox. It offers a 14-day trial followed by a one-time purchase.
