Godot Engine is a feature-packed, cross-platform game engine to create 2D and 3D games from a unified interface. It provides a comprehensive set of common tools, so that users can focus on making games without having to reinvent the wheel.
Godot Engine vs RPG Maker opinions
Godot is a power tool to make real games. Would be cool if it supported a proper programming language tho.
This engine isn't as simple as RPG Maker, but it is a fully featured engine with MIT license to boot.
Requires coding while RPG maker doesn't
RPG Maker is rather easy and fun to use. You do not need any programming knowledge. Godot requires coding for most features.
RPG maker is an easy to use software that doesn't require any proper coding to produce a full game. although you can use programming if you want to for more intricate or complex features. Godot however, to my knowledge, isn't as code-free as RPG. Not a good alternitive if you're in it for the code-free experience.
not user friendly, need knowledge of computer scripting for even the most basic use of godot
It seems more of a kid-friendly alternative. Plus, it is licensed by MIT.

GDevelop is an open-source game making software designed to be used by everyone. Any kind of 2D games can be created with it and no programming skills are required to get started. Logic of games are made using visual events.
GDevelop vs RPG Maker opinions
While GDevelop has a lot of great features, it really isn't very similar to RPG Maker at all. The games you make for GDevelop are more like games you would play on your phone rather than actual RPGs.

GB Studio vs RPG Maker opinions
If you want retro-style gameboy games, this is the one for you! No programming needed, though there is LOTS of limitations to fit with the game boy format. The best thing is that you can put it into an actual game boy console!!!

RPG Playground vs RPG Maker opinions
PixlTempThough I use RPG Maker VX Ace the most, RPG Playground is an excellent alternative. Lacking some features, but I'm sure it will have them soon. The developer is very talkative and takes everyone's suggestions. I'm sure it will grow into an amazing game creation website one day.
EybiSeaI can create an RPG Game for free, the mechanics is simple if you understand it.
Free extremely easy to use and amazing artwork and easy coding language
