Godot IS a 2D and 3D or both development. I don't know why people say is only for 3D

Godot is not for everybody, especially if they do not like coding. But as an engine it certainly is far more feature-packed than Gdevelop. As a plus, Godot can do both 2D and 3D, while Gdevelop is limited to 2D only.

While it tries to claim it has visual programming that part of it is very low end and is probably the closest to programming visual programming can get by still remaining inhuman along with just not being easy to use.

      Unity vs GDevelop opinions
This alternative is disputed. Unity is still a legitimate alternative to GDevelop, but it might have issues that some users think are important.
Unity requires scripting knowledge and Gdevelop is codeless so everyone can make games easily.

With 3rd party plugins we can extend the tool with a visual programming solution that is just as easy to use as the event system of GDevelop and we can export our games to desktop, mobile, HTML5 and game consoles.

      RPG Maker vs GDevelop opinions
      pros, cons and recent comments
RPG Maker is only good at one thing and that thing is RPGs. It is still possible to make dungeon crawlers and strategy RPGs like Fire Emblem with this engine, but not platformers, racers (or kart games) and shooters among other genres. You are better off trying another engine that is vastly more accessible in that regard.

Very limited for game genres, mainly oldschool, topdown action-RPGs. Hardly any other kind of game possible.
