Postbox has some really nice features beyond what Thunderbird can do. I've been using it for about two months now and have mostly enjoyed using it. There are a few bugs and UI quirks, but they should be worked out eventually. That said, they're now starting to charge for it. And they're charging $40 for it. It's simply not worth that much. $15? Sure. But not $40.

Yep, I totally agree. I prefer Postbox to Thunderbird, but there is zero tech support for Postbox; not even a proper user forum. I don't see how they justify charging for it when they won't even support it. I'm seriously considering switching back to Thunderbird.

it is 15$ now :)

It's $40 now.

Yes. But it is a perpetual lifetime license now since version 5.
All new licenses or upgrades since Postbox 5 includes both updates and upgrades to all future releases, lifetime.
And now its on sale for 32$

True. I'm actually evaluating it now. I didn't realize it was a lifetime license - that is a point in their favor.

Definitely. So far I love postbox over rest of them out there.

An ATM for for the "forker" of Thunderbird.

As already told, its better or simply more complete than Mozilla Thunderbird but (to me) its not worth the 40 bucks. That said I think that it could be a good investment if you need an email app for your company, but for personal use I say nah.

It was/is a fork of THUNDERBIRD.
At $50 usd / user =PLUS= $10 usd to get eMail help ... is a bit rich
a lot of extra bells and whistles ... when al I want is to send-get-read emails
if an eMail is critical, no way I leave it in any mail handler

Wife still uses and old "Postbox" bugs and all.
I cannot tempt her back to my TBird v52.52 that works perfectly and was /is free.

It's good but now they've started charging which seems foolish when Thunderbird,Sea Monkey & Evolution are free and of comparable quality

Great alternative if you've been disappointed by the slow development of Thunderbird. The search functionality is great - allowing you to quickly find previous emails from the same person, or all the attachments you've received in the last few months. Another great feature is the conversation view which shows you the chain of replies, similar to Gmail. Really enjoying Postbox at the moment after using Thunderbird 2 for a long time and even trying the Thunderbird 3 betas.
