Postbox has been acquired by eM Client; ends development and support after December 2024
The team behind Postbox, a well-known email client for Windows and macOS, has announced its acquisition by eM Client, another established email platform. eM Client integrates email, calendars, tasks, contacts, notes, and chat into a unified application available for Windows and macOS users.
Postbox users can continue using the software, but it will no longer be sold or developed further. Support for Postbox will be available until December 22, 2024, with the Help Center accessible until December 22, 2025, for any remaining inquiries.
To facilitate the transition, Postbox has arranged a discount for its users. Customers who purchased Postbox on or after September 22, 2024, will receive a 100% discount on their one-time purchase or first year of subscription to eM Client. Other Postbox users will be eligible for a 50% discount. This offer is valid until December 31, 2024, and applies to most eM Client packages, excluding Lifetime Upgrades and AI Add-ins for one-time purchases.
I just switched to Mailbird and it is the perfect alternative for me. They have an offer for Postbox users currently on their website. Postbox users can get Mailbird for free (with an exclusive free version) or get a big discount on their paid plans.

Wasn't Postbox initially a fork of Thunderbird? I think in the recent past few years Thunderbird has advanced enough that I really don't use or look at any other email client.
As a postbox user I kind of feel like this is a kick in the face... 50% discount excluding lifetime updates... when you have a lifetime update version of PostBox...
$119.98 one time personal with discount... that is such insane BS I'm switching to Thunderbird.

Especially since their normal blackfriday discount is 60% so they aren't even giving us the same discount we could get later this month...
