I just registered on here just to tell you all how great Petrichor is.

I was surprised to find out how difficult it is to find a macOS music player that:

  • is good looking and fast
  • has album cover previews
  • has an albums list view that could be sorted by album artist
  • supports FLAC and OPUS
  • actually works

In the meantime here's what other projects were about (with all due respect):

  • Wora is broken and hasn't been updated in a year
  • Dopamine is slow and has a lot of visual bugs
  • Cog (while being my second favorite) has only one library view
  • The others are not even worth mentioning

This project was such a surprise for me find, it almost feels like an anomaly. It also is only 29mb in contrast to 392mb Dopamine. I think it'll be the first FOSS project that I'll support financially
