What is Egle?
Egle is a fast, native Windows app to play, organize, clean and tag your music library, and it can also fully manage your DAP library. It bundles six tools that usually need many different programs:
- Massive Tag Editor: edit tags with a live diff preview and Undo. It has a bunch of presets that handle the most requested changes many users need: clean whitespace and hidden characters, fix capitalization, remove a specific value from a tag, drop junk tags (MusicBrainz/iTunes leftovers), find & replace (text or regex), normalize genres and artist separators, renumber tracks, and calculate ReplayGain (ITU-R BS.1770, the same standard foobar2000 uses) for even volume across your library.
- Bit-Perfect HiFi Player: FLAC/ALAC/WAV/AIFF and MP3/AAC/Vorbis/Opus, automatic per-track sample-rate switching, gapless playback, ReplayGain, Windows media-key/SMTC integration, and true bit-perfect playback.
- Music Library Manager: albums, artists, genres, playlists, favorites, listening history, statistics, a duplicate finder (sends worse copies to the Recycle Bin) and a 3D Picture Flow cover view.
- FLAC Authenticity Checker: real-time spectrogram to spot fake or up-transcoded FLACs.
- DAP Manager / Cover-art: easily sync your local library with your DAP, manage DAP playlists, and embed, resize, extract or clean artwork across formats; handy for getting a Rockbox DAP ready.
- AutoEQ to Rockbox EQ Converter: turn AutoEQ headphone profiles into native Rockbox parametric-EQ files.
Built with Rust and Tauri, so it's a single light tool. No Electron, no background services, no telemetry. Installer or portable available (runs from a USB stick if you want), 7 languages, optional backup/restore. Free to use, with optional Patreon supporter tiers.

Comments and Reviews
I was very interested in a modern looking tag editor for Windows, unfortunately this one doesn't seem to hit the mark for me. Its no way comparable or as powerful as other audio taggers like tagscanner or mp3tag. Personally I view this more as a music hub think windows media player or Nero MediaHome but for only music. Compared to those however Egle is better, no buts about it. I was just expecting something more geared to tags.
I appreciate your feedback and I'm sorry it's not yet up to par with some of the competitors. Egle is definitely a Rockbox / Music Listener Base project, so there's still a lot of work to be done on every level. I'm trying to continue in this way. I'll definitely be improving the tools in future releases, trying to match and, why not, improve on other tagger managers. Thanks for the feedback, and I hope with future updates, you'll be able to give Egle another chance!
