What is OB Lite?

OB Lite is a browser-based editor for Obsidian vaults that are synced through a GitHub repository. It connects to your repo with a GitHub App scoped to the single repository you choose, and lets you read, edit, create and organise your Markdown notes from a phone — without installing anything and without running git on the device.

It renders Obsidian-flavoured Markdown: wiki-links, embedded images from the vault, task checkboxes, tables and simple Dataview queries. Changes are written straight back to the repository as commits, so your vault stays a plain folder of Markdown files that you own.

Free: browsing, editing and saving existing notes, offline drafts, search, recents, dark theme, up to 10 new notes per month, 3 bookmarks. A one-time purchase (US$6.99 / JPY980) unlocks unlimited note creation, delete / rename / move, wiki-link navigation, outline, image upload, light and Moon themes, Dataview tables, and encrypted share links for individual notes. There is no subscription — the sync layer is your own GitHub repository, so there is nothing server-side to rent.

Notes never pass through the developer's servers: the app talks to the GitHub API directly from the browser. Share links are encrypted in the browser and the key travels only in the URL fragment, so the operator cannot read shared notes either.
