Masker Alternatives
Masker is described as 'program that encrypts your files so that a password is needed to open them, and then it hides files and folders inside of carrier files, such as image files, video, program or sound files' and is an app. There are more than 50 alternatives to Masker for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. The best alternative is TrueCrypt, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Masker are Windows BitLocker, Encrypto, Axcrypt and Seahorse.
Masker alternatives are mainly Disk Encryption Tools but may also be Password Managers. Filter by these if you want a narrower list of alternatives or looking for a specific functionality of Masker.[TrueCrypt is not exactly "Open Source", but the source is available. See the reviews to get more information.]

"The development of TrueCrypt was ended in 5/2014 after Microsoft terminated support of Windows XP. Windows 8/7/Vista and later offer integrated support for encrypted disks and virtual disk images."
