Maple Alternatives
Maple is described as 'General-purpose commercial computer algebra system. Users can enter mathematics in traditional mathematical notation. Custom user interfaces can also be created. There is support for numeric computations, to arbitrary precision, as well as symbolic computation and' and is an app in the education & reference category. There are more than 50 alternatives to Maple for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac, Web-based and Flathub apps. The best Maple alternative is Wolfram Alpha, which is free. Other great apps like Maple are SageMath, R (programming language), Mathematica and Spyder.

Comments about SageMath as an Alternative to Maple
Excellent alternative to Maple and Mathematica for the serious user ; may alleviate Matlab needs (except for dedicated toolboxes, which may or may not have a Python/Sage equivalent). Users need to invest some time in learning Python and some basics of undergraduate mathematics. Not much shiny interface gadgets, but a trove of mathematical gems. Excellent tools for the production of reproducible research/actie documents. Definitely recommended if openness is important.

Comments about Maxima as an Alternative to Maple
huunghia160799I liked it because it is powerful! With the right commands, you can do what you would typically do with Maple.
Pitty the idea of this program is not as bad as it could be, but it's not even close a match for maple.
