What is MacMD Viewer?

MacMD Viewer is a native macOS app for reading Markdown (.md) files — not editing them. It's built for people who already write in VS Code, Cursor or Obsidian and just want a fast, clean way to read the Markdown their AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) keep generating.

Open any .md and it renders full GitHub-flavored Markdown — Mermaid diagrams, tables, syntax-highlighted code — plus a QuickLook extension so you can preview files in Finder by pressing Space, without launching the app. A sidebar outline tracks your position as you scroll, and live reload refreshes the preview the moment the file changes.

Read-only by design: you keep your editor for writing, MacMD for reading. Light and dark document themes, a Library view to browse all your Markdown in one place, actively maintained, and available direct, on Homebrew, and on Setapp.

$19.99 one-time — no subscription, no account required. macOS 14+, universal binary (Apple Silicon and Intel).
