What is LidAwake App?

LidAwake is a macOS menu bar app that keeps your Mac awake, including with the lid closed and no external display. It has two modes: Keep Screen On for stepping away from the desk and Run with Lid Closed for a laptop that has to keep working while closed. The mode stops by itself when the Mac gets hot, when the battery runs low or when a timer ends, and can run only while charging. If the app quits unexpectedly, normal sleep returns within two minutes. Open source (MIT), no account and no analytics. Requires macOS 13 or later and Apple silicon.
