What is LEKTRA?

LEKTRA is a high-performance document and image viewer with efficient scrolling capabilities. It allows users to open multiple documents at once using tabs and splits, and customize their layouts. A unique "portal" feature enables viewing different sections of the same document side by side. The software includes a "preview" function and a Visual Line Mode feature for easy navigation. Users can search through the document with highlighted results and navigate their reading history with the Jump Marker & History Navigation feature. LEKTRA also supports SyncTeX for seamless jumps between LaTeX source and PDF location.

The software offers annotation support with options for highlight, rectangle, and popup annotations. It ensures highlighted text remains searchable and provides fast link navigation with hint overlays. Users can customize the software through a TOML configuration file. Other features include support for local and global bookmarks, lazy loading tabs, session management, customizable keybindings, and automatic non-PDF URL detection.
