Unfortunately, KeePassXC lacks a very useful option to display custom columns in the main list (e.g. if you add a field like "email" or "displayname" to your password entries, you might want to be able to quickly see where have you used a given email.) This is a dealbreaker for me.

It's better to use a password manager than not. By a mile. So use LastPass rather than nothing. But KeePass is prefereable because a) it stores your passwords locally rather than putting it into some US company's hands, b) LastPass doesn't encrypt domain names of your accounts, c) KeePass is open source.

Despite KeePassX lacks some fancy features of KeePass and its development is slower, it is native to Linux and have much better performance and bit better look there. Still there are problems about storing the database file in cloud, as KeePassX does not support such services nor plugins, which could help (so you depend on another software to do syncing).

KeeWeb is KeePass-compatible & open source. It has most of the most important functions, although it is less well-established and lacks plugin support to extend its functionality and offer browser integration. On the other hand, it works natively on Mac, which KeePass does not.

It has a pleasant GUI design and the Auto-type function along with "Mix real keystrokes with random" is most useful on their Desktop App. Most of all, this app is open source.

1Password is proprietary (not open source) and might not encrypt your URLs (neither does LastPass). A more trustworthy choice is KeePass (or KeePassXC for Mac/Linux with browser integrations). Failing that, try BitWarden, which syncs just like 1Password, except that it's open source and does encrypt your URLs.

Although it is not Open Source (and usually when you want an alternative to an OS software, you would naturally wish for another OS solution) you can just purchase the applications and you are done. No monthly fees (although 1Password does have a plan option) and has a local database (unless you wish to sync between multiple devices). I also think it is above KeePass due to the extensions, which improve your daily routine quite significantly.

Genius invention. Doesn't store your passwords anywhere; it generates them everytime you put in the same Master password and username/website domain. Therefore, your password database can't be hacked - it doesn't exist. However, it's harder to change passwords for accounts because you have to use the iteration feature. Test it to see if it suits your needs. Thumbs up for open source also.
