What is 1Password?
1Password creates strong, unique passwords for all of your sites and logs you in with a single tap (or click).
A single click opens your browser, opens a site, fills in your username and password, and logs you in. Our Strong Password Generator is your key to password liberation. One click creates a strong, unique password for each account, and our browser extension fills it into the website automatically.
Organize your vault
Mark your most important or frequently used items for quick access and sync this list among all your devices. Drag any mix of 1Password Logins, Secure Notes, and other items into folders for work, finances, social media, or any other grouping you need. Adding tags to 1Password items is a snap; focusing on them to get things done is even easier.
Our new service keeps you informed about your security. Watchtower securely checks your logins for known vulnerabilities and tells you which sites need new passwords.

Upvoted a comment on KeePass as an alternative to 1Password
KeePass does not store your passwords 'in the cloud', so you have complete control over your data and don't have to trust any third parties on the security of your most passwords. KP can be easily intergated with various tools that one uses, e.g. a browser and its functionality can be extended via plugins.POXedited 1Password
bonkintimethinks Bitwarden is an alternative to 1Password
The easiest one to use out of all password managers I've tried.
Things that make it better: Does not force you into a monthly subscription fee for synchronizing Polished interface makes it easy to stay organized Supports many platforms (Mac, PC, Chrome, Android, iPhone, etc) Watchtower feature looks interesting
Things that make it worse: Auto-entry on android devices requires changing your default keyboard to theirs Opens links in their built-in web browser instead of your default. No way to identify old entries for the sake of removal
Expensive app, and it keep popping up all the time, asking to ensure I'm using the latest version, and when I download and install it over and over, the popup is showing again and again. Come on! I don't want this pop up. And what if I intentionally want not the latest version? Well, disappointed and uninstalled. Using free Keeweb, and happy with this choice.
It's a great and easy to use password manager, one that can store more than just passswords. It allows for other items like SSH keys, software licenses, api crediticals, cards, and much more.
Other thing is the integration you can use with FastMail and Privacy.com, two services that I use and rely on. With these integrations included with 1Password I can create masked emails and masked cards on the fly when filling out information on websites.
The integration and support is also pretty great on Linux.
I would like to see more open source approaches from the company.
1Password is a very easy to use password manager with great UI centered on Apple products. I used it for quite some years but now (2022) I have switched to a different password manager. My problem with 1Password is that its forcing users to switch to 1Password cloud service with subscription payment model. With the release of 1Password version 8 support of local vaults and/or syncing to cloud service of my choosing is no more. The local vault functionality used to work just fine, yet now its 1Password cloud subscription or nothing. Its a shame really since I quite enjoyed 1Password ease of use on my MacOS and iOS devices.
If you want the freedom of choice keeping your password vault whenever you want to store it, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Perhaps try Bitwarden or Enpass instead.
It provides device synchronization from the start.
Great UI, responsive team and they add new features frequently. As a developer, the Developer Tools are very helpful.
