Works easily for downloading whole websites, just search up wget mirror or something. Idk about the iq of the other recommenders since they all seem to agree that it is impossible or hard.

HTTrack is far easier to use and is specifically made for creating offline copies of websites and has lots of options to deal with that, especially using its GUI interface.

RoestVrijStaal tl;dr Wget is the wrong tool for the job which HTTrack fulfils. Wget is only to download single files. HTTrack has rudimentary the same behaviour like a web browser. HTTrack parses the HTML-files of the given URLs and fetches all the assets (pictures, javascript etc) used by the HTML files.

Because modern websites are complicated and often rely on dynamic content, ArchiveBox archives the sites in several different formats beyond what public archiving services like Archive.org and Archive.is are capable of saving.
