    Because it lacks in everything Gothic does right: story, characters, quests, ACTUALLY has a living and breathing world, real consequences to your actions because you can't be a warrior and a mage and a thief and a assassin all in ONE playthrough which is ultimately meaningless in both the real world and virtual one. Also not hardcore enough nuff said

    First of all it's made by the same developer team (Piranha Bytes) so people who worked on all real Gothics, 1,2 and 3, not Arcania were working on Risen series as well, which counts a great deal. That being said many of the elements that made Gothic what it is, are present here only in a brand new setting.
