What is Gisia?
Gisia is an open-source, self-hosted DevOps platform aimed at individual developers and small teams who want to run their own Git hosting, CI/CD, and issue tracking.
It covers the core forge feature set: Git repositories over SSH and HTTP(S), CI/CD pipelines defined in .gitlab-ci.yml with project- and group-level runners, issue tracking, epics, merge requests with inline diffs and review comment threads, webhooks, protected branches, and local user accounts.
Its distinguishing feature is built-in support for AI agents. Every project serves a machine-readable skill.md file at a predictable URL. Pointing any agent that can fetch a URL and call a REST API at that file — Claude Code, OpenClaw, or a custom bot — teaches it to clone, push, and manage issues, epics, and labels through the Gisia API, with no plugin or integration to install. Gisia is built on Rails 8 and installs from a single Docker Compose file; a small VPS is sufficient.
