Launchy replacement for XP machine

Hi,

I installed FARR as Launchy became a real memory hog for an old, but decent and dependable, XP machine.

Getting used to it but I was impressed too for the same reasons as CaseyTech points below.

I love FARR. I have been a die hard Launchy user for years, but with the horrible memory that came out after version 2, I decide to find an alternative. I tried every keystroke launcher listed as an alternative to Launchy and none of them had the quick simple setup and learning/re-ranking system that Launchy does.
Then I found FARR and was very impressed! It has all of the great features of Launchy and more! It uses very little memory (<15mb) and has no index, but searches super fast. It also learns/ re-ranks files and programs as you select them.

It also has a ton of settings and ways to extend its features and capabilities. I literally would have a hard time working without this program.

I cannot imagine to work without FARR:
"Find And Run Robot" (FARR) is very useful, if you have installed very many programs, to preserve the overview, where is what application installed, or where is the setup-file for an installed application. Additionally, FARR finds very quick internet links to applications or folders, which stand in context with a searched expression or application. You can individually define, which especially weights some folders or file-extensions should have. So files or folders, you individually search very often, can get more weight in the search-and-find-process.
My summary: Since I know, that this application exists, I cannot imagine to work without it each day.
If you try it, you will like it!
