  1. There are rare files that are hard to find that are only in eMule. Ex: software or old games.
  2. It has happened to me to find a page or forum with dead links, but looking at eMule I could find the file that on the web was down.
  3. Compared with other similar P2P clients, eMule is still the leader application in number of users and files.

Emule has both popular and very rare files. And I don't have to seed. With torrents, seeding trashes my HDDs too much, because nobody wants many files, I keep them in vain. With emule I download, consume then delete files. No seeding needed. Most likely, the file will not be in demand for years. Although, I can't download many files present because of some settings on the other side.

You need to know how and when to use it. Otherwise you get stuck in front of your computer for hours and nothing happens.

Really neat project. Yes the app may be not so quickly developed anymore but it is mature. The p2p eMule network is not for those that wants something immediately (for that, people can pay), but for those that like to share things over months and years. Furthermore with certain settings between two peers, the transfer speed can get very fast, but the two peers have to cooperate.
