DriverBackup is a lightweight driver-backup tool. The application is portable with a caveat: you'll need administrative privileges for full use. You can opt to backup one or all of your drivers, the backed up files are dumped into a tree structure based on driver name.

It seems like a very good program. I wanted to restore all drivers. I was pointed to a .bki file that wasn't showing. When "show all files" was clicked in the main folder, another file appeared which is the one I used. I am seeing yellow caution flags. I ran the program in Admin mode, but it seems the program can't access the files. Even if it says "restored", I am not so sure. Admittedly, I copied the folder of files from another disk drive, but the computer is the same. I wanted the drivers from a fresh windows install even if it wasn't on the same disk drive.
DriverBackup! worked to restore my barcode scanner usb driver which worked on my old computer. The new computer did not and would not install the driver on its own. I tried other backup tools which did not efficiently and quickly work fast or well for me, except this one. The tools that did not work are; Snappy Driver Installer, Unknown Device Identifier, Driver Store Explorer. Free and opensource doesn't get any better here. Donate to dev if you can.
To run this program it is necessary to install the .NET Framework 3.5, I recommend that you download the offline version but it is up to you.
You can back up all drivers including native Windows. Very good and extremely fast. In addition to the advantages of being portable. Simply the best because it solves everything.
