What is Crest?

Crest is a macOS app that turns the MacBook notch into a compact panel for everyday tools. It runs in three modes (Home, Work, Code) that can switch automatically based on the frontmost app: music controls and Now Playing, a calendar with one-click meeting join, todos, notes, clipboard history and a file shelf, window snapping, and system stats. A built-in Claude co-pilot turns typed or spoken phrases into reminders, todos, notes and calendar events after showing a review card, and it relays Claude Code and Codex permission prompts to the notch for one-click approval. It runs on the user's own Claude subscription with no API key. On Macs without a notch the panel appears as a floating pill. Notarized direct download for macOS 14 and later. The free tier is permanent; Pro is a one-time purchase.
