No other music organizer is nearly close, for mac at least.
I use it everyday and it's a gamechanger. Guys are coding new features every other week. Good job crates team!
I'm not sure I want to continue using Crates. I had to abandon my first attempt at importing my library as it had been going for about 90 minutes and was still only about a quarter of the way through. I tried again with far fewer folders and it worked quickly but not well. The track listings were all mixed up and having spent so much time making sure my tags were in good shape that was a bit hard to bear. I still haven't found anything even half as good as MusicBee.
I have a Mac Studio device I hate Apple Music I am using MacOS Ventura without an Apple ID Account I just want to Download this Application there website wants you to make an account just to download it... I have tried to use Apple Music I have all my music on an external storage and AM (Apple Music) makes a duplicate to the internal drive, you remove the duplicate it removes it from the library, VLC is great I love VLC on Windows but you can't skin it on MacOS at all. VLC on MacOS has no ability to make favorites I wonder why? it feels like 5% of the Windows version I am used to. No App like crates which I want to try is going to make me make account for something that doesn't need an account for just to play music.... something isn't right here. And theres no Android App. They gatekeep new features as well behind a paywall as well.
Its really great, not close to perfection (its very recent software? 2024-09-20).
Needs to improve performance and some music with same title are mixing togheter. Ui is so good but does not show what folder the music is playing.
