I LOVE Cosmic. It gets a three star because at the current moment, in March 2026, it just isn't ready to be a daily driver. However Cosmic is the future of Linux desktops. It's use of Rust will help handle memory leaks and increase security. It just needs a little more time until it becomes that future!

What is COSMIC?

COSMIC is the name for the main shell components in Pop_Shell (separate from the tiling and window-management components). It makes the following changes to the standard GNOME Shell environment:
- Dock
- Workspaces
- Configuration options
- Separated Workspaces overview from Applications.
Most components can be configured to fit the user's workflow and preferences, with two main presets for both keyboard-focused and mouse-focused navigation and use.
