What is Colosseum?

Colosseum is a free and open-source native Windows desktop media environment for manga and western comics, ebooks and audiobooks, movies, TV shows, anime, and local media.

It is organized into three media worlds:

Tankoban is the manga and comics side of Colosseum, with catalogue browsing, series and volume views, a built-in comic and manga reader, reading progress, collections, and local reading.

Biblio is for ebooks and audiobooks. It includes a built-in ebook reader with typography controls, bookmarks, annotations and search, plus audiobook playback and read-along support that can keep reading and listening progress together.

Theatre is for movies, TV shows and anime. It includes catalogue browsing and an mpv-based video player with resume, subtitle and audio-track controls, playback speed, picture-in-picture, chapter navigation, episode queues and other playback tools.

Vault is Colosseum's local-media library. It can index folders you choose without relocating the original files and opens supported books, comics, manga and videos in the same readers and player used elsewhere in the application.

All of these areas share the same Home, Continue, Collection, Downloads and session system, so progress across different types of media lives inside one desktop application.

Colosseum is built with Qt 6, QML and C++, uses MpvQt/libmpv for video playback, and is released under the MIT License.

Currently available for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
