Comment summary: Netflix is appreciated for its wide selection of movies and series, ad-free experience, and strong recommendation system. Many users value the ability to stream anywhere and enjoy diverse content, including Netflix originals. However, some express concerns over geo-blocking, DRM limitations, and price increases. Criticism also includes political content and varying quality of original shows. Overall, Netflix is praised for its ease of use and vast library.

Though Netflix goes through periods of waxing and waning in terms of new original content being added, it is an invaluable service for anyone that enjoys quality television and movies. The selection is absolutely labyrinthine in scope, with every genre one can possibly think of accounted for heavily. There's plenty of content for anyone looking to watch something no matter where they are, and that makes Netflix an easy recommendation.

  • uses geo-blocking
  • requires third party software (widwine from google -they love to help building the censorship all over the world lately-) to watch the encrypted contents
  • older and famous movies are not available (yet?)

but is still a better choice than amazon or hulu if you are outside the us.

I think till the u.s. maffia (mpaa) won't lift the geo-block (morons the internet has no borders), torrent users will seed the "illegal" stuff and services like netflix are forced to use encryption to "protect" them from the "swarm".

p.s: I subscribed for a couple of months (to support this way some of my favorite shows) and i'm still seeding to others that is currently blocked by their f-ing "law".

bye-bye streaming services untill geo-blocking will be illegal

Region blocking aka IP checking to see if its the same user or if you are sharing is easy to overcome.

Yeah you gotta know your way around networks a bit but, create a VPN on your router and just connect to it before watching, set that up on your friends phones, laptops and PCs and they're good to go.

Its a lot of work and that's why I recommend just unsubscribing simply :P

The only reason I still have this is because a family member of mine is paying for it. They keep removing features subscribers like in order to increase profits. They fund crappy remakes. Plus I never liked subscription-based models. However I give it 2 stars because at least they let you use ad block for the ad-based plan. The fact you have to pay for ads is still annoying though.

If you read through the comments, it appears as if someone paid for positive comments from a cheap service online.

Netflix has some decent movies, but most of them are not great. They have been peddling worse and worse TV shows. Occasionally you will find a gem like Ozark or The Last Kingdom.

I can find every single tv show and movie free online, why would I support a company that doesn't even make anything decent (and sometimes quite indecent, like their whole social justice for sexualizing children on "Cuties").

No commercials. No hidden fees. Try one month free. You can cancel anytime.

You can also download some shows and movies to mobile devices for offline viewing. The feature is included in all plans and available worldwide, but Android devices must be able to stream Netflix in HD to select video quality.
