Like cable TV. Commercials and all. Also has tons of on-demand movies. Not the cream of the crop, but not total poo either.
No such thing as a free lunch. Here's a commercial service that gives you something for free. How? They collaborate with advertisers to harvest information about your browsing habits. Which means you are the product. The privacy policy even admits they follow you around online after you leave the site. Creepy. (Just like Google, Facebook and LinkedIn, by the way: they do the same. They sell you, which is why they seem "free" in the same way.)
A flavour of Pluto.tv's privacy policy:
Our Services do not support Do Not Track requests at this time, which means that we collect information about your online activity both while you are using the Services and after you leave our Services.
"We don't support widely accepted browser settings, so we follow you around the internet like the creeps we are." Enjoy!
Btw, if you don't know what to do about all this - and it goes on all the time online - get a VPN service that doesn't keep logs about your browser data (e.g. Private Internet Access or AirVPN). Then purge the cookies from your browser using something like BleachBit, CCleaner or BetterPrivacy and stop using Chrome, log out of Google and use use Firefox instead with uBlock Origin, https Everywhere and Disconnect installed.

They have a wide selection of movies, shows and channels even for their on-demand stuff. The design is good too even if I wish the watchlist was easier to get to. The main problem is their privacy policy sucks even in comparison to other free streaming websites. On tubi I was at least able to turn off personalized ads. Here they fool you into thinking you have an easy opt-out by listing "your privacy choices" at the bottom. But all cookies are listed as "always active." So to opt out of personalized ads, you either have to delete cookies every time you use pluto, have a real good tracker blocker, OR email them.
the catalog isn't very extended but it's free and well designed
Nice free legal TV service. It's not a replacement for DirecTV/Dish, Sling and sorts, but it's a great addition (if you are already subscribed to a TV service). It also, surprisingly, has decent ad free music channels. PlutoTV also has on demand, though mostly dated shows and movies (which is basically the same as their live TV channels), but it's still free and interesting.
If they'd offer a premium commercial free version of PlutoTV for a monthly fee, I'd consider subscribing, but it appears they only offer the free tier. Probably not much more than $7.99 though.
