What is GenX Streamer?

GenX Streamer is a free, open-source app for watching live TV on Windows PCs and on Android TVs, phones and handhelds. There is no account, no ads and no tracking: your channels, favourites and history stay on your device.

  • Free TV: finds public live channels, checks that each one actually plays, and keeps the ones that do. Favourites, filters, search and voice search.
  • Paid TV, your way: bring your own provider account (Xtream), kept in your device's protected storage.
  • Program guide: what's on now and next (XMLTV), instant replay and captions.
  • GenXtra: a library of public-domain films and classic TV, with downloads.
  • Cast to a screen: send what you're watching to a Chromecast or DLNA TV.
  • Made for TVs: a remote and D-pad friendly design. Runs on 32- and 64-bit Android 7.0 or newer, with its own decoders for formats some older devices can't play.
  • Pass it along, no app store needed: send it phone to phone, share it with everyone nearby by QR code with no internet, or install it on a Google TV straight from your phone by pairing with the TV's remote code.

Every release file has a published SHA-256 checksum. Licensed under Apache 2.0.
