What is Bitdefender Antivirus?
Bitdefender comes with real time scanning that is called Virus Shield and an auto-scan mode that checks your system when the computer is idle. Game mode is fully automated and will be enabled when it detects a full screen application running. This antivirus is made to be as simple as possible so you won’t find any more setting options other than a few buttons to enable or disable the virus shield and auto scan. To scan the whole drive, you will have to right click on the drive letter from Explorer and select “Scan with Bitdefender”.

Tested only Mac OS version warning! Good:
- Without continuous scanning, ligthweight.
- App works fluently
- Can scan very large files Bad:
- Missed a trojan which was caught by Virus Total.
- Needs to update its catalogue on every scan or at least once a day, depends on you usage.
- Browser extension sucks in my opinion
It's fast and does not pop up with ads or other annoying notifications.
Pros: -Much cheaper than Norton (personal use) -Solid ranking/won awards -It saved my ass once after downloading a malicious torrent -Seems lightweight, and doesn't bug me with pop-ups -I'm not a fan of most "free" anti-virus/internet security
Cons: -Price - $95 annual for 5 device protection. That sucks, but I'm paying it.
I can safely say that Internet Explorer is the worst browser in the long sad history of bad browsers. The 1st thing I do after a fresh Windows installation, is downloading Chrome trought Internet Explorer and immediately remove Internet Explorer. I really don't remember the last time I used that bad excuse of a browser.
The old Bitdefender Free (2013 version, I think) Installs fine, no issues. The latest version with new "improved" user interface, won't install because I don't have Internet Explorer. WTF...
Big no no for me. I would immediately ask for a refund if I bought any Bitdefender product, and they don't install because I don't meet the "Minimum software requirement".

Most of the reviews are very old so I thought I’d make a new one. Personally I like Bitdefender very much. It’s cheap and reliable. They also updated the free version which is cool too. It’s worth checking it out!
I was looking at some of the reviews and I don't know. I haven't tried this. BUT, it was recommended by a computer geek and I tend to listen when they point something out. Is it the best? Probably not.
Free version a waste of time for me. Wish to remain anonymous when trying out free versions. Why they need my name is beyond me.. Just put some word for my name and an email address (not my primary one because I don't want emails then have to unsubscribe).. Installing, they wanted to remove two excellent anti-malware tools (very light, safe, reputable, around for years, one open source). Let it remove one, quarantine the other after the first scan. Checked to see the features, settings, configurations, but nothing. OK. Time to uninstall.
