Phixo

Phixo is a privacy-first anti-phishing Chrome extension (works in Chromium browsers including Edge) for Gmail and Outlook. When you open an email and scan it, Phixo analyzes it and tells you, in plain English, why it looks like phishing — or why it's safe — instead of a vague "blocked" warning.

It combines several detection signals: sender domain age and reputation (including VirusTotal), live threat-intelligence feeds (URLhaus, ThreatFox, OpenPhish — refreshed roughly every 15 minutes), Google Safe Browsing, SPF/DKIM/DMARC authentication checks, link-target mismatch detection, homoglyph and lookalike-domain detection, and an LLM (Llama 3.3 70B) that reads the message for social-engineering language.

Privacy: an email's content is sent for real-time analysis and then discarded — the email body is never stored. Only an HMAC-SHA256 fingerprint and the risk verdict are retained. No ads, no data selling.

Phixo is built for individuals, freelancers, and small teams — not enterprise. There's no admin console and no IT setup. The free plan includes 10 scans per day with no credit card; a one-time Google or Microsoft sign-in is required so your scan count stays tied to your account.
