Ocenaudio has all the editing capabilities of Audacity but wrapped in a much more streamlined, modern and intuitive interface. It's not open-source, but it's free, doesn't have ads, is also cross-platform and runs fast at native speed.

A great alternative to Audacity, if you don't need multi-track editing.

I needed to do spectral analysis of an audio file, but audacity didn't support hidpi. Ocenaudio does, and overall it is capable and pleasing to use.

It’s not free I’m sure it’s great but please don’t put it at the top of the list generating the idea it’s the most similar only to find out after installing it’s not free and worse there’s no free version. It’s all or nothing Thank you for this website though! It’s exactly what I needed!

It costs $100 to get the features that comes with Audacity for free, and the UI is a mess.
