A fork of the unmaintained AltDrag, this allows you to move and resize windows by holding the Alt key and clicking anywhere within the window instead of relying on very precise clicking of the window edges.

When I've started dualbooting, one of the simplest but coolest feature of Gnome was exactly this: dragging and moving/resizing windows with hotkey involved. I am happy to find that I can do the same thing in Windows with AltSnap (and actually more!). Try it once and you'll love it.

Just as a continuation of the awesome AltDrag which couldn't be mantained anymore by its creator, this software deserves full marks. I'm still learning all the added features, and by the looks of it, AltSnap has developed a plethora of new elements that might be useful to the power user!

The best solution I've found for this purpose. It works really well and you can even Alt-MMB (middle mouse button) to get a menu where you can set various window properties like Always on Top, Borderless, Center Window, Kill Program, etc!!

What is AltSnap?

This is a maintained continuation of Stefan Sundin's AltDrag.

It allows you to move and resize windows by holding the Alt key and clicking anywhere on the window instead of relying on very precise clicking of the window's edges. This behavior is very common on Linux distributions and is not actually hard to implement on Windows.

This version keeps up to date with minimal amount of bugs while keeping it feature-rich.

It is oriented towards all Windows users from Windows NT 4 to Windows 10, even though it is mostly tested on Windows XP and Windows 10.
