Google launches a low-cost Nano Banana 2 Lite model and new Gemini Omni Flash video model

Google has launched Nano Banana 2 Lite, a new image generation model focused on speed and lower costs for enterprise use. Built for organizations that need to produce large volumes of images quickly, it can generate text to image outputs in about four seconds and costs $0.034 per 1K resolution image. The model can replace the original Nano Banana and is available to developers through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, while general users can access it through AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, NotebookLM, Google Photos, Google Stitch, Google Flow, and Google Ads.

Google also introduced Gemini Omni Flash, a new generative video model now available in public preview. Developers can access it through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and the Enterprise Agent Platform, while consumers can use it in the Gemini app and Google Flow. The model supports video generation and conversational editing with text, image, and video inputs, with pricing set at $0.10 per second of video output.

Omni Flash supports natural language video edits, multimodal references, and graphics synchronized with on-screen actions. For now, the preview is limited to 10-second clips, while longer durations, audio references, and broader API support are planned for future updates. Despite the short duration, the results seems to be really decent though; you can take a look at some examples here.
