Gemini app adds file generation for PDFs, Word, Excel, and Google Docs

Google’s Gemini app now lets users create downloadable and shareable files directly from a chat prompt, reducing the need to copy, paste, or manually reformat content between apps. Text, drafts, summaries, and ideas can now be turned into structured files within Gemini.

The feature supports common formats such as PDF, Microsoft Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, along with CSV, LaTeX, plain text, rich text, and Markdown.

Generated files can be downloaded directly to the device or exported to Google Drive for further editing and sharing in Google Workspace. The feature is available globally to all Gemini app users and can be accessed by describing the type of file needed in the chat interface.
