Moonshot launches Kimi K3.1 Pro with 1M-token and 3D modeling
Moonshot AI has recently launched Kimi K3.1 Pro, an updated version of its flagship K3 model with a context window of up to 1 million tokens and roughly 2.8 trillion parameters. The company attributes most of the improvements to additional post-training and reinforcement learning. The model scored 55 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, up from K3's 44, placing fourth globally behind Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 and Meta's Muse Wonder Full. It also reached 1,846 Elo on GDPval-AA, approaching Claude Opus 5.5's 1,866.
The update improves multi-step coding, debugging, and agentic tasks, and it also expands into 3D modeling with support for Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Blender, CAD tools, and Three.js. Moonshot also introduced Kimi 3D Make, a web-based tool for generating and editing 3D models from text, sketches, and images, with exports for 3D printing. API pricing starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, around 33% lower than K3, with a faster Highspeed option at higher rates.
Kimi K3.1 Pro is available through the Kimi web and mobile apps, Kimi Work, Kimi Code, and the API. Although Moonshot describes it as an open-weight model, the full weights are scheduled for release by November 4, 2026.
