Music server Navidrome 0.56 adds library cleanup tools, UI upgrades and key security fixes
Navidrome 0.56 introduces significant updates to music library management. Users can now perform bulk cleanup of missing files and set automatic purging during scans. The release also enables hiding missing artists from both the user interface and the Subsonic API, with admin-only filters for targeted management.
Playlists receive several enhancements: downloaded playlists now include M3U files, improving compatibility with external players. The interface now shows playlist cover art and allows saving the current playback queue as a playlist. The user interface itself features smooth artwork transitions, real-time scan progress, error reporting, and elapsed time, supporting easier library monitoring.
Additionally, album song lists now display genre and mood fields, and the song info dialog provides sample rate information. Navidrome can now read lyrics from .lrc
files stored on the file system. Admins can control symbolic link scanning behavior via the new Scanner.FollowSymlinks
setting. The release also introduces ISRC support for OpenSubsonic and expands media filter options.
The update fixes a potential SQL injection vulnerability in artist role filtering, addressing a critical security concern. Furthermore, transcoding configuration changes are now restricted to admin users for additional protection. Updated translations and additional technical improvements are also included in this new version.
