Cleaning software BleachBit 5.0 adds security upgrades, cleaner enhancements, and more

BleachBit 5.0 has arrived with a suite of improvements aimed at delivering a stronger, more reliable cleaning experience. Highlights in this release include enhanced system cleaners, a new display-language option in preferences, easier application closing with keyboard shortcuts, less intrusive update notifications, increased stability, and fixes for several notable issues such as loading personal cleaners in portable mode and handling custom and whitelist tabs. The update also extends support for cleaning Discord variants and refines behavior on multi-user systems by ignoring other users' processes.

On Windows, users benefit from urgent security updates, including patched DLL vulnerabilities and protection for MMC snap-ins. The move to Python 3.11.10 and GTK 3.24.43, together with an updated NSIS installer, strengthens the foundation for future development, though support for Windows XP and 7 has ended.
