Microsoft introduces a pay-as-you-go Copilot Chat for Microsoft 365 business users

Microsoft has introduced Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, a pay-as-you-go service aimed at enhancing the chat experience for commercial users with advanced agent capabilities. Users can use GPT-4 for tasks such as market research and strategy development and upload Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint files for summarization and content enhancement.

Copilot Pages supports real-time team collaboration by integrating files, AI-generated content, and web data, and includes AI image generation for campaigns. Additionally, users can create task automation agents using natural language through Microsoft Copilot Studio. IT administrators gain from management tools and advanced analytics for monitoring usage and ROI.

The new offering distinguishes itself with a consumption-based agent usage model, contrasting with the subscription-based model of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which costs $30 per user per month. Both Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Microsoft 365 Copilot support autonomous agent actions with metered capabilities, and customers can access Copilot Chat through the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on various platforms, including web and app stores.
