Slack introduces Agentforce for advanced AI-powered CRM integration & third-party AI bots
Slack has introduced Agentforce, an AI-powered feature that integrates Salesforce CRM capabilities directly into Slack channels. Leveraging Salesforce's AI technology, Agentforce allows users to interact with CRM data, update records, and draft emails using natural language processing within Slack. Slack CEO Denise Dresser highlighted that these features mark a shift from basic collaboration to incorporating AI agents, customer data, and automation into daily workflows.
In its effort to become a hub for AI-driven tasks, Slack is also enabling third-party AI agent integrations through partnerships with Adobe Express, Anthropic's Claude, Cohere (AI), Asana and Box. Additionally, Slack is launching AI-generated summaries for "huddles," its informal video chat sessions, to help users quickly understand key discussion points. A new AI-powered workflow builder aims to simplify task automation for teams without requiring advanced programming skills, while enhanced AI search functionality will improve the efficiency of searching through uploaded documents and files.
These AI features will be available as a paid add-on for users on paid Slack plans, offering advanced automation and data insights. Most of the enhancements, including Agentforce and improved AI functionalities, are expected to be fully rolled out by early 2025.
