Cryptomator releases version 1.14 for desktop and 2.6 for iOS with enhancements and fixes
Cryptomator, the well-known data encryption software, has rolled out version 1.14 for desktop and version 2.6 for iOS, incorporating several enhancements and bug fixes.
Cryptomator 1.14 for desktop introduces a Quick Access feature, simplifying direct access to vaults within the file manager. This feature is enabled by default and is available on Windows and major Linux distributions, though macOS support is currently lacking due to missing system interfaces. Additionally, the software can now start automatically upon login on Linux, supporting GNOME and KDE desktop environments when installed via AUR, PPA, or DEB. This update also addresses issues with pCloud and resolves a problem where editing Microsoft Office documents within a Dropbox vault on Windows could lead to data loss.
For iOS users, Cryptomator 2.6 now supports Box, allowing users to manage encrypted vaults directly within the Box cloud. The update also adds Slovenian and Ukrainian language support, fixes a critical bug for OneDrive, and removes the change password option for Hub vaults, as these do not have individual vault passwords.
