IntelliJ IDEA 2024.2.1 has been officially released and is available for update. Users can update directly from the IDE, via the JetBrains Toolbox App App, or using snaps for Ubuntu. The update is also available for direct download from the IntelliJ website.

This release introduces support for several Java 23 language features, including module import declarations, basic Markdown comments, primitive types in patterns, instanceof, and switch, along with additional minor Java Enhancement Proposals (JEPs). These updates aim to enhance the development experience by integrating the latest advancements in the Java programming language.

Several bugs have been fixed to improve stability and performance. Key updates include resolving a crash on macOS when the terminal is open, fixing startup issues due to non-ASCII characters, and speeding up project saving.
