MetaAI debuts on WhatsApp, IG, FB & Messenger, with AI Image Generation & Chatbot features

Meta has introduced a new AI assistant, Meta AI, to be incorporated into its social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The AI assistant offers a range of functionalities like answering queries, creating animations, and generating high-quality AI images. Meta AI is built on the company's latest large language model, Meta Llama 3, and uses real-time knowledge from Google Search and Microsoft Bing search engines to improve the accuracy and relevance of its responses.

Unlike competitors like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google Gemini, Meta AI differentiates itself through its integration the biggest Meta's products, where users can directly interact through the search box in WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The image-generation feature, currently in beta on WhatsApp and the MetaAI website, allows users to create and refine images in real-time.

Meta AI serves a wide array of user needs, including restaurant recommendations, vacation planning, and home decor ideas. It also extends its services beyond social media platforms, providing assistance on the dedicated website "meta.ai" for tasks like solving math problems and composing professional emails. Meta AI is currently available in English across over a dozen countries including the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
