Microsoft OneDrive rolls out fluent design update for OneDrive for personal users
Microsoft is rolling out its latest Fluent design update for its Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage service, featuring both visual and functional improvements. The updated design had already been released since October of last year for Microsoft 365 work and school customers, but now it will be available to all OneDrive personal users by the end of February.
The redesign aims to simplify file access, enhance content organization, reduce clutter, and align with the design principles of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 Copilot apps.
Key features include the "people view" option, allowing users to locate files and documents, or to recall who shared a document by identifying frequent collaborators' faces. The main interface retains essential file management functions while introducing new file filters, enabling users to sort content by file types such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF. The 'add new' button now consolidates options for file uploads and new document creation using Office apps. You can more about the new changes in the official blog.
