YouTube Music rolls out official support for Apple HomePod
YouTube Music has oficially introduced support for Apple HomePod, fulfilling a promise made during the WWDC event in June. This feature, which allows HomePod users to access YouTube Music through voice commands, is only available to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscribers. To enable it, users must update the YouTube Music app and connect it with HomePod through their Google Account.
Moreover, YouTube Music can now be set as the default music service on the iOS Home app, eliminating the need to specify "on YouTube Music" in Siri commands.
This integration positions YouTube Music alongside other alternative services like Deezer, Pandora, iHeart, TuneIn Radio, or TIDAL, which provides HomePod users with an easier method of accessing and playing music officially. In contrast, more popular services like Spotify, while having some workarounds to function on HomePod, still fail to deliver official support as promised.
