Microsoft Office version of OneNote being phased out

Users of the OneNote in Microsoft Office may have to prepare for a shift in where to find the note taking application, depending on what operating system they're using.

Starting with the upcoming release of Microsoft Office 2019, Microsoft OneNote will not be included among the productivity suite's slew of applications. Instead, users will have to use either the dedicated app included in the older Office 2016 (which will no longer receive new features and will receive security updates until October of 2020), or use the version of the app that is included with every installation of the company's flagship Windows 10 operating system. That being said, the Office 2019 suite will only be compatible with Windows 10 and macOS, so for users of older versions of Windows, versions of OneNote included with older versions of the Microsoft 365 Copilot are the only versions available to them.
